Welcome to the BLSAC Mentorship Program page.
If so, you have come to the right place.
The BLSAC Mentorship Program connects undergraduate and law students with practicing lawyers with similar interests. The BLSAC Mentorship Program is extremely valuable and will provide support and networking opportunities. We strongly encourage you to join the program.
BLSAC is presently working with the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL) and the Law Society in your province as well as other relevant organizations to provide you with access to a pool of lawyers who are willing to mentor students. We will match up mentors and students based on their shared areas of interest or practice. Students can ask questions and get advice about preparing for law school exams, job prospects in the legal profession, career interest and any other topic from their BLSAC Mentor. It is up to the mentor and student to decide how often you wish to get together or whether you prefer to get together in person or by phone or e-mail. To request a mentor, please complete the online form.
If you are a law student or legal professional who wishes to mentor to a secondary school or undergraduate student, please complete the online form to become a mentor.
For more information, please contact Te-Anna Bailey, BLSAC National Mentorship Program Coordinator at teannabailey@gmail.com.
We look forward to hearing from you and best wishes in your studies.
